For those of you interested in attending New York City premieres which include a Q&A with the filmmakers or even an after party.  And you have the money to spend, and want to be part of the movie making process, than you want to check out Kickstarter which is fast becoming a popular site for crowd funding of indie film projects.  With many of these film projects, they include perks which may include tickets to a red carpet premiere in New York City or an after party.  I recently wrote about Spike Lee doing a Kickstarter project that raised $1.4 million.  Among the prizes he offered was if you donated $250 you would get New York red carpet premiere passes.

Some of the current projects on Kickstarter that offers New York City premiere passes or after party with the cast are:

BEREAVE is a feature length film that stars Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), Neve Campbell (Scream) & JJ Feild (Captain America).  Fatally ill, Garvey thinks he has figured out how to die. But when his beloved wife Evelyn goes missing, he must live to save her.

As with any crowd-funding projects, there are risks in that the project may not come to fruit.  Always read over and consider the risks with each project before making any donation.  As some of the amounts are nothing to sneeze at.  Since it's your money, it is your responsibility to do due diligence.

Have you ever funded a film project on Kickstarter?
