In the fourth episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. "Eye Spy" aired this past Tuesday, we meet a former S.H.I.E.L.D. protégé of Coulson's.  Akela Amadour played by Pascale Armand is stealing diamonds for unknown reasons.  Diamond heists are not the type of missions that Coulson's team was put together to tackle but Agent Coulson decides to handle the case anyway.  When he learns that it's his former protégé committing the robberies it becomes personal for him as he had long believed she was dead along with her S.H.I.E.L.D. team she was working with when she had gone missing.

During Coulson's team's investigations, they discover that the case is more than meets the eye.  Literally!  Someone is controlling Akela, and it now becomes a rescue mission.  The episode was enjoyable but still missing certain elements that I have been clamoring for.  There are a lot of hints to future possible episodes such as when Akela mentions to Melinda how Coulson seems different.  And of course the mysterious villain between Akela's predicaments remains to be revealed.

Overall, if you're a fan of the series, you are going to enjoy the episode.  It has the cute quirkiness of Fitz and Simmons.  As as he borderline flirtation between Skye and Ward and the fathering of his team by Agent Coulson.  I would love to see some more Marvel Comics characters.  For example, the mysterious people behind what has been going on could be A.I.M. or Hydra.  Which in Marvel Comics are terrorist groups bent on world domination.

What did you think of the fourth episode?
