I have been to too many comic conventions to count, I personally don't like the fact that the bigger conventions are now more about pop culture than the actual comics they are supposed to be about. East Coast Comic Con is a true Comic Convention in every sense of the words. They had an amazing line up of talented creators: Neal Adams, Buzz (of Vengeance of Vampirella fame), Mark Waid, Franco (of Tiny Titans fame), Mike Zeck, Anne Nocenti, Rick Parker, Zeea Adams, Joel Adams, Billy Tucci, Mark Texiera, etc.

This show in my 30 plus years of comic fandom is what a comic convention should be. Cliff Galbraith and Crucial Entertainment run a great show. It's not the chaos you would see at a New York or San Diego Comic Con, It's a low key show that show the comics and the comic creators as the key stars of the show. Don't get me wrong they had some pretty awesome media guests, Nichelle Nichols (Uhura from Star Trek the original series), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back), Sam Jones (Flash Gordon from the Flash Gordon film and from "Ted" and "Ted 2"), etc. But the key focus was comics and comc creators.

I, having been to a ton of conventions kind of feel jaded when i go to the monsterously big shows. But here I felt like I came to a comic book heaven. The creators were awesome, You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't go see Buzz, Neal Adams, or Rick Parker, The laughs from Buzz and Rick alone are worth the price of admission. And you can be introduced to amazing artists and creators that are on the rise and are faces you don't see very often.

I feel like I'm blowing smoke, but I'm really not. This was a awesome fun show that even had 3 DIFFERENT Batmobiles there (Batman 66, the 89 Tim Burton one, and the Tumbler from the Christopher Nolan Trilogy), along with the Munster's car, and The Monkees' car. The 501st Star Wars Garrison was there taking pictures with anyone who asked and it was a show you can bring your family to and enjoy the day. There were panels also (which I sadly missed due to other commitments :( ), a costume contest. Basically all the great things you would expect from a awesome comic convention.  When you hear Crucial Entertainment is running a show make sure you go to it, you won't be disappointed.

4.5 out of 5 stars
