My Review:
Our "Lady Killer" and main character we follow is Josie Schuller, who after the events of the last series is now in Cocao Beach Florida with her family. She has a mother in law that saw her kill someone and is deathly terrified of her. She is a beautiful 1950's style housewife who throws tupperware parties and is a contract killer also. If you look on line the character is best described by multiple outlets as "Mad Men's Betty Draper meets Dexter's Dexter". She is the sweet loving housewife that has 2 children, a loving husband, and a beautiful home. Her mother in law lives with them, and they host dinner parties and barbecues like anybody else. But Josie is a killer.

For those of you out there that loved the first 4 seasons of "Dexter" and enjoyed the craziness of Dexter being a serial killer while trying to maintain his police job, then you should love this book. Joëlle writes this book with humor as well as calculated killings. In this second series she pulls double duties to illustrate this book to perfection. The talented Michelle Madsen makes the pages come to life with her color talents. Just to be honest, I heard about the first book and it kind of fell through the cracks for me between my weekly pulls and all the other things I have going on I constantly said "I'll get to it eventually", I now regret thinking that way after seeing a copy of issue 1 of volume 2. The book is so flawless, If you are a fan of female led books, this one is by far the best I've read in a loooooong while. And I read a good amount of female led character comics. I totally picked this up cold. I knew of the concept but never actually read the book. And after seeing this issue, I have been mentally kicking my own butt for not jumping on when it first came out. This was another hit for Dark Horse and a great series. I now have to figure out who will buy one of my kidneys to go find the entire series in first print issues.

You are doing yourself a disservice if you aren't picking up this series. If you like "Mad Men", "Dexter", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", or any books starring a female lead buy this series. You will enjoy it and laugh your head at the humor. Oh and the killings are pretty cool. I rate this 4.5 out of 5. Great read, Beautiful art, and just a great begining to a thriller.
